Slip Recipes to Try

In the studio, engobes play an important role. They are colored slips, applied to pieces while still unfired, allowing you to explore shades, contrasts, and surface effects. I like working with engobes because they keep something raw and authentic, while adding a touch of color.

Here are a few simple and accessible recipes, perfect for experimenting. They can serve as a base to adapt according to your preferences, your clay, and your firing process.

Let yourself be guided… and above all, have fun finding your own tones.
